Fleet Service Manager - Heavy Construction Equipment
Position Overview
The Fleet Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves managing a team of mechanics and operators, coordinating service schedules, and maintaining inventory for parts and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the fleet maintenance and repair operations for heavy construction equipment.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is serviced regularly and remains in optimal working condition.
- Coordinate with mechanics and operators to diagnose mechanical issues and prioritize repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of service history, equipment usage, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor inventory levels of parts and supplies, and reorder as necessary to prevent downtime.
- Train and mentor mechanics and operators on best practices for maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
Qualifications- Proven experience as a Fleet Service Manager or in a similar role within the heavy construction equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, and John Deere.
- Excellent mechanical skills with a background in repair and maintenance of heavy machinery.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and relevant certifications in equipment maintenance and repair.
